Morgan Wallen Has Postponed the Start Of The Dangerous Tour Due to Severe and Inclement Wea
Morgan Wallen is pressing pause on his upcoming tour.
The “Whiskey Glasses” singer took to social media today (Feb. 3) to announce that his massive The Dangerous Tour, which he announced back in November with HARDY and Larry Fleet, has been pushed back a few days due to “severe and inclement weather” hitting the Northeast.
The 46-date run was supposed to kick off later this evening in Evansville, IN, followed by Charleston, WV on Friday (February 4) and Allentown PA on Saturday (February 5), but it will now begin next Wednesday (February 9) at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Morgan encouraged fans to hold on to their tickets for the three shows, as they already have rescheduled dates for April 14, April 15 and May 27, respectively.
“Due to severe and inclement weather in Indiana, Kentucky and throughout the Northeast, I unfortunately have to cancel the shows this weekend,” Wallen wrote on social media. “Here are the new dates: Evansville, IN – Thurs, April 14, Charleston, WV – Fri, April 15, Allentown, PA – Fri, May 27. Hold on to your tickets!! They will be valid for the new dates. If you can’t make the new dates or prefer a refund you can reach out to your point of purchase directly. Y’all stay safe and we’ll see you soon.”
The Dangerous Tour marks Wallen’s first headlining tour since releasing his double album Dangerous and its deluxe version in January, which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s top country albums.
It’s also his first tour since his racial scandal that happened back in Febuary, in which TMZ shared a video of Wallen coming home after a night out with friends yelling, “Take care of this…(slur),” referring to another person in the group. The video was captured by a doorbell camera and a neighbor’s cellphone. You can read more about how the scandal unfolded here.
After being suspended by his record label, Wallen put out a public apology both on YouTube and Good Morning America about the incident. Since then, Wallen has performed at Marathon Music Works in Nashville to raise money for victims of Tennessee floods, but his The Dangerous Tour will be his first official tour since his suspension.
